Alfabet Expand Web Workshop (561-74E)

Expand is a tool used to configure user profiles and functionality for Alfabet. The meta-model can be enhanced to reflect an Alfabet customer's unique information needs. Configured, use case-based user profiles grant individual user’s different perspectives and views on the data stored in the Alfabet database. This course enables participants to work with Expand, helping them learn how to adjust existing user profiles and create new ones.

Prerequisite:
  • Basic computer handling and possibly EA and business-IT management knowledge
  • Participants should have experience with Alfabet (as a user or within a project), technical disposition (developer background is optimal, but not a requirement)

  • Tour through Alfabet Expand/overview
  • Enhancing the meta-model (custom properties, enumerations)
  • Creating & editing user profiles (custom editors, custom object views, working with view schemes and class settings)
  • Guide page design
  • Creating wizards
  • Advanced profile configuration (custom selectors, custom explorers, etc.)
  • Configuring stereotypes
  • Overview over XML objects (status concepts, rights management, etc.)
  • Practical exercises / case study (group assignment)
  • Configuration quality recommendations (naming conventions & best practices)
